When I reflected on all the ideas we had for our music video, including all the key concepts of mise en scene, location, motif and props and stuff, I realised that myself and the rest of the group members had not considered any editing ideas... obviously we want the editing to be flawless and transition into the next scene without a hitch, but we did not consider if we wanted to add special effects such as split screen or wipe etc.
What we are definitely going to do in the editing process of the music video is match the camera shots and pace of the music video with the sounds and chorus of the song: particularly the gunshot and cash register sounds. Rather than having the visual aid of a gun or the cash machine like the original artist does, we will make the scenes in the music video match the pace of the sounds. Also with the lipstick idea we had, we will transition into the same shot of the artist at the exact same position just wearing a different lipstick colour every 3 seconds.
Some new ideas that I just considered is when we are in Camden Town, we could have a shot of our artist walking through the busy and crowded streets of Camden Town like we originally planned; however in the editing we could reverse it so it looks like the artist is walking in reverse and the effects of the people in the shot going about their business will look much more effective and interesting if reversed.
Also, we could get shots of objects at the locations such as the fountains at Kings Cross. We film the fountains and what's going on around them and then in the editing process speed the shot up so its going very fast so everything that happened in that day's filming is condensed into one very quick shot; this effect I think would be amazing and would go well with the introduction of the song.
These are just some rough ideas but after careful consideration I think these will look very good in the music video and I could visualize them working well.
