Planning: Website for original artist

After much research into our artist MIA, I discovered that she has two websites that could be considered 'official'. The rest were mostly fan sites but these two have news and information that gives fans an update on what the artist is getting up to. Even though MIA is a fairly independent and alternative artist I expected that she would have an official website that keeps fans up to date but it was very hard to find an official website that you would usually easily find with a popular artist. However, I came across her myspace page, which has not being updated in a while, and found that she doesn't really promote her brand and products that much; I think she relies more on her devoted fans being up to date with her business themselves rather than constantly reminding them which constitutes the fact that she has a devoted and reliable fan base that know what they need to know about her; such as upcoming songs, albums, photo shoots and any impending appearances and concerts.

On her page, she has a simple layout with times and dates for any appearances that she will make, and pictures and videos of her songs and brand image. As you can see, the layout is fairly simple and subtle; its not very flashy and exaggerated; You would expect to see such a  layout with a unknown band or artist that is looking to get discovered; she is a fairly popular artist (her hit song Bad Girls) so this is quite surprising to see.

This shows her dedication to her music alone rather than letting the flashiness of her website affect her work and music; she focuses solely on the quality of the music rather than over promoting herself to draw in fans and attention  to herself which is a fresh and respectable approach.

Here are some bigger screenshots of the two websites so you can get a feel of the vibe and general layout of it.
